How to use the picker wheel
- Type or paste your entries in the box, one per line (names, prizes, chores, pet names, anything).
- Press SPIN or the space bar.
- The winner appears under the wheel and is added to the history list.
- Use Remove winner for raffles where each person can win only once.
Is the wheel fair?
Yes. The result is chosen before the animation starts using crypto.getRandomValues, the secure random generator in your browser, with rejection sampling so every entry has exactly the same chance. The wheel then animates to land on that entry. Nothing depends on how hard you press or when you tap. We tested the selection over 50,000 simulated spins and every slot came up within the expected range.
Ideas for using it
- Classroom: pick a student to answer, form groups, or choose the next reader.
- Giveaways: paste the comment names and spin live on stream; remove winners for multiple prizes.
- Pets: can’t decide on a name for a new puppy or kitten? The wheel comes pre-filled with popular pet names to get you started.
- Everyday decisions: what to eat, who does the dishes, which game to play next.
Privacy and offline use
Your list is saved only in this browser so it is there next time. Nothing is uploaded, and after the first visit the page works without internet. Sound is off by default; tap the speaker button for clicking sounds.
FAQ
How many names can I add?
Up to 200 entries. With many entries the text gets smaller, so short names work best.
Can the same person win twice?
Yes, unless you press Remove winner after each spin, which takes them off the wheel.
Is the result truly random?
The winner is picked with the browser's cryptographically secure random generator, so each entry has an equal chance.
Does it save my list?
Yes, on this device only. Clear it with Reset or by deleting the text.
Can I use it on my phone or a projector?
Yes. The wheel scales to any screen, works with touch, and the space bar spins it on a keyboard.
